What is POTS?

POTS is a form of dysautonomia, meaning a dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system. The autonomic nervous system helps regulate heart rate, blood pressure, digestion, body temperature, and other processes in the body we cannot consciously control.

P.O.T.S. stands for:

  • Postural : position of your body (lying, sitting, standing)

  • Orthostatic : standing upright

  • Tachycardia : increased heart rate

  • Syndrome : a group of symptoms

Have you considered a multi-faceted approach to POTS/Dysautonomia?

In our center, we first do a comprehensive exam to understand all the components involved with POTS.

From the exam, we will devise an individualized treatment plan because POTS requires looking at all aspects of the nervous system. This includes the autonomic nervous system, motor system, sensory system, balance center and spine.

For individuals who may feel apprehensive coming into our center, we do offer virtual appointments!
