Dr. Michael Husmillo

D.C., D.A.C.N.B., F.A.C.F.N.,C.F.M.P

Dr. Michael Husmillo is a graduate of  the University of California at Berkeley where he majored in Integrative Biology with an emphasis in neuroanatomy. He did his thesis under the supervision of Dr. Marian C. Diamond studying the relationship between the immune system and its effects on the neuroanatomy. He obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life Chiropractic College West where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. While attending Life Chiropractic College, Dr. Husmillo also completed a 3-year postdoctoral functional neurology course through the Carrick Institute for Graduate Studies in Clinical Neurology and successfully passed examinations leading to the certification of Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board. 

In addition, Dr. Husmillo has further training in functional medicine through Functional Medicine University. He has blended his background in functional neurology with hundreds of hours of advanced post doctorate training in neurochemistry and functional medicine to provide a very comprehensive and unique approach to one's care.

 

Dr. Husmillo’s training in functional medicine has allowed him to better understand the profound connection between the brain and the gut. Dr. Husmillo’s belief that brain-gut connection is the key to living a healthy life.   

Dr. Husmillo is first and foremost committed to providing each patient with an individualized diagnostic and therapeutic approach to assist them in their journey to live a healthy and fuller life.

Edna Bionson

"I'm new to functional medicine, I had no idea that it even existed. I am excited by the process and the results of the patients. As a patient advocate, my mission is to educate every patient on how to live a healthy and balanced lifestyle."

Edna received a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University. She joined Dr. Husmillo's team in July 2012.

Sarah Adamczyk

"Functional Medicine gives me the opportunity to learn more about the pathways in the human body and how they affect the health of an individual. I am excited about the innovations in this field and helping patients find new ways to achieve a healthy lifestyle. I am passionate about our patients and helping them discover more about their body."

Sarah is studying Biology at Oakland University in hopes to become a neurologist. In her free time she likes to play violin, read, and find new places to explore.

Lauren Bionson

"Before joining Dr. Husmillo's team I didn't know that there was an alternative method other than the traditional treatment. Dr. Husmillo has shown me that we can do more than just mask my symptoms, and instead, discover the root cause and heal it naturally."

Lauren Bionson graduated in 2013 with an Associates in Sports Medicine. She joined our team in July of 2017 and is committed to helping others achieve their personal goals.
